Nikon Middle East is set to participate at CABSAT 2026, bringing its latest photography, filmmaking and content creation technologies to one of the region’s most influential gatherings for the media, broadcast and professional AV industries.
Taking place from 5–7 October 2026 at Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City Dubai, CABSAT brings together professionals and technology leaders from across the media and entertainment industry, with content creation, storytelling and virtual production among the key pillars of this year’s event.
Nikon will welcome visitors across two Nikon-branded booths, one in collaboration with AWPRO and another with its local distributor Grand Stores Digital, creating two dedicated spaces where photographers, filmmakers, cinematographers, content creators and production professionals can experience Nikon’s latest imaging technologies first-hand.
At the centre of Nikon’s CABSAT presence will be the opportunity to get hands-on with the recently announced Nikon Z5IIC, alongside the Nikon ZR, Z6III and Z8, as well as other Nikon cameras and a broad selection of NIKKOR Z lenses.
Visitors will be able to explore different camera and lens combinations and experience how Nikon’s expanding imaging ecosystem addresses workflows ranging from photography and digital content creation to professional cinematography.
“CABSAT brings together the people who are actively shaping the future of content creation in our region, making it an important platform for us to engage directly with the professional creative community,” said Narendra Menon, Managing Director of Nikon Middle East. “Our presence this year is about much more than displaying cameras. We want creators to use them, challenge them and experience the complete workflow—from capturing an image through to the final grade. With innovations such as Z CINEMA, the Nikon ZR and R3D NE, we are bringing technologies traditionally associated with high-end cinema production into increasingly compact and accessible systems.”
From Capture to Grade: Putting R3D NE to Test
A key highlight of Nikon’s participation will be a series of live demonstrations in collaboration with Davinci Resolve, exploring one of the most critical advantages of RAW filmmaking: the ability to preserve extensive image information for post-production.
Working with DaVinci Resolve, Nikon will demonstrate colour grading workflows using R3D NE footage captured on the Nikon ZR, including challenging footage that has been deliberately overexposed or underexposed. Visitors will be able to see how image information can be recovered and creatively manipulated during the grade, providing a practical demonstration of the latitude available to filmmakers working with RAW.
At the heart of the demonstration is the Nikon ZR, a compact full-frame cinema camera from Nikon’s Z CINEMA series. The camera features R3D NE, a RAW recording format developed exclusively for Nikon cameras and based on RED’s R3D RAW technology. By incorporating RED colour science and exposure standards, R3D NE brings a sophisticated cinema workflow into a remarkably compact camera system, supporting internal 12-bit RAW recording and giving filmmakers extensive flexibility over colour and exposure in post-production.
The demonstration will allow visitors to see that capability beyond specifications and technical claims, following footage from acquisition through colour grading and final image recovery in a real-world post-production environment.
From the New Z5IIC to Professional Cinema Production
Nikon’s CABSAT lineup will also demonstrate the breadth of the Nikon Z system.
The newly announced Nikon Z5IIC brings full-frame imaging to a new generation of creators through an intuitive, screen-first shooting experience. Built around a 24.5-megapixel full-frame sensor and Nikon’s EXPEED 7 image-processing engine, the camera combines accessible operation with advanced imaging capabilities, including 4K video, N-Log and internal N-RAW recording.
For hybrid creators and professional productions, visitors will also be able to experience cameras including the Nikon Z6III and Nikon Z8, alongside the ZR and an extensive selection of NIKKOR Z lenses. Together, the lineup demonstrates Nikon’s expanding approach to modern content production: an interconnected system capable of supporting creators as their requirements evolve from still photography and social content through to commercial video, documentary, broadcast and cinema production.
Beyond hands-on product experiences, Nikon will host a series of photography and videography talks throughout CABSAT, bringing together guest speakers and creative professionals to share practical knowledge, production experiences and perspectives on contemporary visual storytelling.
Through its participation at CABSAT 2026, Nikon Middle East continues to strengthen its engagement with the region’s professional creative community, combining advanced imaging technology with education, hands-on experiences and real-world production workflows designed to help photographers and filmmakers turn creative ideas into compelling visual stories.
